1.) Reset Password \/ Config<\/p>\n
- Connect to the router via Serial Cable<\/p>\n
- Power on the router, but send a break during the first 60 seconds of boot time to get to the rommon CLI<\/p>\n
- enter\u00a0confreg 0x2142 <\/strong>followed by a reset<\/strong><\/p>\n - Router is booting up, as soon as it does enter the system configuration dialog, answer the question with no<\/p>\n - enable<\/p>\n - conf t<\/p>\n - config-register 0x2102<\/p>\n - exit<\/p>\n - wr mem (because I just want to overwrite the old config :)!)<\/p>\n 2.) ROMMON Upgrade<\/p>\n - Get the latest \/ needed ROMMON upgrade from Cisco<\/p>\n - Copy it i.e. to your CF card via Card Reader, TFTP or other means<\/p>\n - Boot up the router and enter privleged \/ enable mode<\/p>\n - Enter the upgrade command: upgrade rom-monitor file flash:<Filename><\/p>\n - Answer yes to get the process starteted<\/p>\n - After the upgrade the router will reload<\/p>\n 3.) Software Upgrade<\/p>\n - Get the latest\/needed image from Cisco<\/p>\n - Just copy it to the CF card via Card Reader, TFTP or other means<\/p>\n - Reload<\/p>\n
